HCG now and then

Okay before we get into the weekly progress and belly shots I have to record the my bhCG with this baby and do a little comparison to my first monkey. 🙂

When I found out I was pregnant again, I quickly emailed my doctor (who knows how neurotic I am) and asked if she would allow me to monitor my bhCG numbers again for this pregnancy, if for nothing else, my own sanity. Luckily, she’s amazing and said yes! So before we left for Hawaii, I was able to get in 4 blood draws which was really nice to be able to compare with the previous pregnancy!

Sweet Souvenir #2

Date DPO bhCG
11/30/2013 15 456
12/2/2013 17 1371
12/4/2013 19 4638
12/6/2013 21 9082

It is always such a relief to see those numbers going up! The last draw was the day before we left for Hawaii. We spent a week in a Hawaii and it was pretty torturous not knowing if things were still progressing as they should.

Just for fun, here is my Sweet Souvenir #1:

Date DPO HCG
2/24/2011 13 99
2/27/2011 16 595
3/1/2011 18 2,398
3/4/2011 21 7,431

So overall, this baby’s numbers are slightly higher than the first. Pretty neat to see there is variability within the same woman in different pregnancies. I love the human body!!!

Three days after we returned home from Hawaii was my scheduled ultrasound to see if there was a heartbeat. I’ll spare you the suspense…there was!!! It was a great appointment…really surreal actually. We saw the baby immediately and the heartbeat almost as fast. This baby is STRONG! Daddy and I are overjoyed…still super cautious but really happy that this little bean is strong already and showing us that there really isn’t anything to worry about. (I still worry. I’m a mom. It’s what we do 😀 )

And here you are my little bean, in all your glory! You’re very first picture! You’re super cute! 😉
