38 Weeks!

Eeeeep!! Two more weeks until your official due date my love!! 2 weeks?! Aaaah!

It’s mommy’s last day of work tomorrow before I go on maternity leave and get to dedicate the next two weeks to tying up loose ends and getting completely ready for your arrival! I’m very excited about this. I hope you hold out for two weeks…I’ve been having lots and lots of contractions all day every day and also at night!

I took a sewing class tonight to learn how to use my sewing machine so I can sew some fun stuff for you and my very first creation was a throw pillow that matches your nursery theme! I’m so excited for you to see it and use it. 🙂

Here’s what you look like on the outside this week…aw it’s almost over…

Symptoms: Fetal movement, fetal hiccups, CONTRACTIONS!!! (yow!), vaginal discharge, sore breasts, very frequent urination, protruding belly button, sciatic, edema in hands and feet, HORMONAL (I cry at the drop of a hat now, oops), furry tummy, fatigue, shortness of breath, sore joints and ligaments.

Weight Gain: 26lbs

Here’s what babycenter.com has to say about your development this week:

Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she’s over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you’ll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.
Wondering what color your baby’s eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she’s born with brown eyes, they’ll likely stay brown. If she’s born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she’s 9 months old. That’s because a child’s irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she’s born, but they usually won’t get “lighter” or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

Soaking up these last weeks my monkey! Getting myself mentally prepared for the delivery and excited to finally see your face and smell you. Ahhh, I can’t wait to smell you and snuggle you. I love you so much. So so much.
