Thoughts and Ramblings: Public Comments

Walked into an eatery to get lunch today and this is what went down between two girlfriends sitting at a table near where I was standing waiting to order:

Friend 1: Aw, look she’s pregnant! Look how tiny her belly is!

Friend 2: She’s not pregnant!

Friend 1: Yes she is! I think….um yeah I think so…see her tiny belly?

Friend 2. No I don’t think so.

*I place my hand on my belly and start rubbing it*

Friend 1: See I told you!

Friend 2. Aw, cute! Um excuse me, miss! Hi! How far along are you?

Me: Oh, um 7 months

Friend 1 says to Friend 2: OMG you’re SO much bigger than her!! Oops, not that you’re fat haha, I didn’t mean it that way, sorry!  *uncomfortable laughter*

Me to Friend 2: How far along are you?

Friend 2: 6 months

*And I look down to see an enormous belly that is easily twice the size of mine!*

Me: Well congratulations. You look great!

And I walk out with my lunch and smile to myself. I know that girl probably wanted to smack her friend. Oops, the things that slip out of our mouths. Small belly or big belly…growing life is precious and an honor and belly size is not a competition. As long as baby is healthy, happy and growing that’s really the only thing that matters. But I guess it must suck to be on the other side of the spectrum too. I get annoyed when people tell me how small my belly is, but I imagine it’s just as annoying as being told how huge your belly is! Great perspective today 🙂

That’s it for today’s ramblings! Love you baby girl! ♥
