Tic toc baby girl!! We are just trucking right along these days…happy 19 weeks my princess!!
I don’t want to jinx anything, but I am really, really enjoying being pregnant. I’ve heard other women talk about what a joy it is, and I can’t help but share in that sentiment…for the moment of course haha. I’ve so enjoyed watching my tummy grow, following along with your developmental milestones, feeling you move, and sharing a connection with you from the beginning. I can’t explain it really well, but I feel like, for the first time, my body is functioning in the way it was meant to. It has purpose. Beautiful purpose. My body supports yours and it’s an amazing biological phenomenon. I could go on…maybe I will in another post haha.
But for now, this is what you look like from the outside this week!
Symptoms: Round ligament pain, vivid dreams, sciatica, furry tummy, fetal movement, dizziness/loss of balance/clumsy mommy, frequent urination, congestion, hormonal and emotional!
Weight Gain: 3.5lbs
Here’s what babycenter.com says about your development this week:
Your baby’s sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don’t be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.
In other news…we have our anatomy scan on Tuesday which means, I get to see you in 5 days!!! Ahhhh I seriously cannot wait! I miss your sweet face, and foot, and arm, and femur bone! 😀
Happy weekly birthday my love!
